SHORTBREAD CONTEST

An entry form must be completed for each separate entry. This does not apply to the People's Choice award entries.
Entries must be delivered to the Festival Headquarters tent on Saturday 3-21-20 no later than 10:00 AM. No late entries will be accepted.
Judging will be conducted on a "blind taste" basis. Entries should not include any documentation, aside from the initial entry form, which would indicate the identity of the contestant. The judges verdict will be final.
There is no entry fee associated with this contest. All competitors must purchase a festival admission ticket.
Judging will begin promptly at 11:00 AM.
Shortbread will be judged on taste, texture, and appearance.
Prizes will be awarded at 12:30 PM.
Deadline to enter is midnight on Monday, March 16th, 2020.

Enter in one or more of three categories:

Traditional - Traditional Scottish recipes and presentation.

Gourmet - Put your own spin on the traditional recipes.
In this category your may use additional ingredients and embellishments to your liking. The only restriction is your imagination.

Youth (age 16 & under) - Youth contestants may present either a
traditional or gourmet shortbread.

​A trophy for best presentation will be awarded in this category.

There is no fee to enter contest - Purchase of general admission required.

Prizes awarded in each category.

To enter the competition,
please complete the registration form on the Registration page.

Please prepare enough of your entry product for
public sampling after judging is complete.

​There will be a People's Choice award given.

Proceeds from the Sherman Celtic Festival and Highland Games benefit the Texoma Society of CELTS (Cultural Enrichment and Lasting Traditions) a non-profit organization, the Sherman Police Association, and the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
